Solebox is back! After a long time without teaming up with Asics Tiger, the german sneaker retailer Solebox strikes again, with a runner that should be very familiar to the Asics fanatics. The “Blue Carpenter Bee” was originally designed by Solebox founder Hikmet back in 2008 and now finally will be releasing on April 30th at Solebox.
This collaboration finds his inspiration in the carpenter bee, which can be found in Australia. The sneaker features black nubuck throughout the upper, with a fantastic blue micro suede on the tongue, quarter panels and eye stay. The difference to the sample from 2008 is, that the Solebox branding isn’t on the heel tab, instead it will be represented on the heel wrap.
The carpenter bee is represented on the insoles and on the back of the sole of the right shoe.
Personally I’m extremely excited about this release… I’ve been a fan of this color way for ages and I can’t wait to get my hands on a pair! Even tough I’m a big fan of the kicks and of the shop I must admit it is a bit of a cheap move from Solebox to bring this cw out, as it was designed by Hikmet and he’s not longer a part of the store. Apart from that, biggest respect because it’s another bomb from Solebox.
The Asics Gel Lyte III “Blue Carpenter Bee” will release next weekend on April 30th at Solebox Berlin and Munich and of course online at www.solebox.com.
The worldwide drop is set for May 7th, so stay tuned for more information and pictures!
