Asics Tiger and the swiss sneaker retailer Titolo Shop have teamed up for a very special charity project, honoring the 20 years of existence of the store.
The Asics Gel Lyte III “Albino Papercut” is currently up for auction and the earned amount will be fully donated to the Pestalozzi Children’s Foundation!
The Asics Gel Lyte III x Titolo Shop “Albino Papercut” is up for auction since last tuesday, August 2nd and has already reached the incredible amount of 20’000€! Definitely, 20K is a crazy amount to spend on some kicks, but as the money will be donated to the swiss Pestalozzi Children’s Foundation, I’m totally ok with it.
The Pestalozzi Children’s Foundation tries to help and create a better environment for children in need around the world since 1946. A incredible charity, which aims for better education for underprivileged kids and goes by the quote of Walter Robert Corti:
«Let us build a world in which children can live.»
The sneaker was created in honor of the 20th anniversary of the swiss store, which began as a sports retailer back in 1996 in Berne. Since then Titolo has developed to the most popular sneaker shop in Switzerland and has earned his recognition worldwide.
Only two pairs of the collaboration have been made, one will be kept at Titolo as a memory to this special occasion and the second pair will be auctioned, as mentioned above.
The pair consists of the inverted color way of the original “Papercut” collaboration between Asics and the swiss sneaker store, which released back in 2015 as a part of the 25th anniversary of the Gel Lyte III silhouette. The collab features a off white premium suede upper with perforation on the toe box and die panels. Some red hints on the lining, eyelets and outsole give a fiery touch to the runner. The papercut theme is represented on the traditional split tongue and on the stripes. The finishing detail can be found on the heel, where the heads of the owners of the store Italo and Manuela have been stamped.
The winner of the auction will also receive the exclusive friends & family special box, which is one of the best boxes I’ve seen in a while!
I think Asics and Titolo have done a great job on this project. Personally I’m a bigger fan of the “Albino Papercut” then I was of the original pair, which released as a tribute to the 25th anniversary of the split tongue silhouette. In my opinion a very clean pair with that light off white cw, the papercut theme on the tiger stripes and split tongue and of course the good cause behind the auction.
I really hope the price keeps on rising, because I know what the foundation does for the children in need around the globe and I would like to thank Titolo and Asics in name of the sneaker community for doing such thing and of course the highest bidder for donating those 20K!
If you got spare 20K in your pocket and you would like to spend then on some kicks with the excuse of doing it for a good cause here’s the link to the auction, that will end next tuesday on August 9th!
