Asics Tiger releases another great pack, including a Gel Respector and Gel Kayano Trainer with an very interesting background story behind them.
They’ll be releasing tomorrow, on July 7th in selected Asics Tiger retailers around the globe!
The pack is inspired by the love story of the princess Orihime, the daughter of the Heaven God and the cow herder Hikoboshi, which was prohibited by the Heaven God himself.
Seeing his daughter devastated like she was, made the Heaven God change his mind and allowing the couple to see them under one condition. They could see each other once a year and only on the seventh day of the seventh month.
The Gel Kayano features a antique moss and mustard colored upper on a light olive midsole, mixing materials like suede and hairy suede throughout the whole upper and duffel bag on the heel.
The second pair of the pack, the Gel Respector consists of and forest green and brighter green duffel bag upper, with a little antique moss accent on the heel. The off white midsole, gives the finishing touch to a very well executed pair.
Both pairs include customized insoles with the word “Tanabata” written on.
Personally I’m really keen on the Gel Respector. The material choice looks nice and the combination between the brighter green and the darker bits is on point.
On the other hand I’m not the biggest fan of the Gel Kayano Trainer, the silhouette itself isn’t my favorite and also the yellow tone they’ve used doesn’t please me…
But big up to Asics for keeping the good work up on the general releases and calming thing down a bit with the collaborations.
